Need help selecting a converter

Would you guys mind giving me some input on converter selection. Here’s my build:

266cid
4 bolt block
Eagle rods, SRP pistons
Comp 422
Vortecs
Turbonetics T-72 BB
Headers, FMIC

If there is other info I need to add, LMK. I would appreciate any input.

sThats very close to my build. Im using a 3600 stall billet converter from Coan. It drives like stock truck with that converter. Good luck

3600? Stock is 2075 - I would think that it's very laggy on the street no? Mine is 2800 and I was thinking of getting a lower stall at some point for that reason..

I have a 3600 as well with my 67GTQ and it feels kind of stock. Slightly laggy really. Wife's Ty has a 3500 with the 20g and stock motor no tune and gets off the line with no power braking faster than some NA cars.

what kind of rpm drops are you guys seing when it shifts at full boost wot?I am thinking mine might be a bit to loose

3600 stall Yank converter, drives like stock.

3600ish seems to be the way to go. A little higher than I would have guessed.

My 3600 really stalls between 3300-3450

listen to the BIG GUN get the 3600 10" multi disk. with lock up. it drives fine. Thats alot of turbo your going to need it.

Frank, did you ever hit 10s with your 700 or was that after your 80E?

BTW, those Coan multi-discs aint cheap.

I took the 700 into the low 12s then went to the 4l80e.
No there not cheap i think i paid 1100.00 for mine.
Racing is never cheap!!!!!
