Need fast help checking timing!!!

I never disconnect the tan wire while the vehicle is running. I turn the vehicle off, connect timing light, disconnect tan wire, then start the truck, check timing. Once timing is checked, re-connect wire, remove power to ecm for 30 sec or so to clear code, remove timing light etc....

Yea that would probably be the smarter thing to do. :smile:

Guys,
The stock balancers are very prone to "slipping" ANYTIME you do a timing check ALLWAYS do a TDC test first!!!!!

If you are off even just a little bit then your timing reading is not worth spit....
