Re: need a transmission

If your in chicago and go with a rebuild, stay away from RoadMaster who is a local builder there.

They f*cked up my transmission on a "free" build I won from them at one of our nationals and they have screwed over other members who paid in full for their trannies at a staggering cost of $2500 which is only really worth around $1500.....if it works.

And dont think that it doesnt happen to the locals... I know 3 people who have been bent over by them.

If you try to call and explain the problem, they give you an attitude of you should be the tranny tech and should give them full detail of exactly whats wrong. Worst customer service ever...Kenne Bell was better than them.

800 miles on a "bulletproof" trans, and my truck hasnt shown any sort of timeslip for it since it was put in...cause it DOESNT WORK. Nothing but a big POS headache.

Oh yeah... welcome to the board. Congrats on the S-GT

Re: need a transmission

Check Rockford Racecraft. Not that close to Chicago but closer than Waller. These guys know our trucks. I have no idea on pricing though. If you find out $ let us know.

I wouldn't recommend Rockford Racecraft.

This has become a personal issue, and it needs to be handled off of the public board.

take it to emails or pms.
Indeed, things like this will no longer be tollerated on this forum. Keith, Ian, Adam, Jason, myself, all the Moderators and the Donating Members have been trying to make this a better place than it was before and this crap just does not need to on here, ESPECIALLY in someone elses thread.

If anyone has a problem with an individual or a vendor on this forum and you feel the need to make it public, then please go and make a Doghouse thread in the Members Marketplace, at least it will be tollerated there as long as it doesnt get out of hand.

Now for crawlinGT, my suggestion to you being that you own a Sonoma GT is this...... go to any well known transmission chain (Aamco, Lee Myles, ect) and get a good build with a lifetime warrenty. I had my first rebuild done for my Typhoon at an Aamco and it included good parts and a stall converter and I even got a small warrenty with it, in my opinion it did pretty well considering it lasted 14 months with me using it as a daily driver, racing it and doing boost launches with 3 of my college buddies in the truck, who knows how long it would have lasted if it didnt get stolen and screwed up.

Point is, as long as youre not planning on putting a small block in it or something, any transmission place can build you a great transmission for a naturally aspirated V6.
Take it or leave it, thats just my suggestion.
