Trying to remember, the pic w/the black Ty is the one I was thinking of? IIRC?
Is that Deans Ty?
Did this black Ty run 10's?
....I did not know that (Dean had a white Typhoon). I met him, Lee Howie, and Dana many
many years ago and even "played" with their many other vehicles (GN's, Thunderbolts ect).

Yes high tens with many stock 4.3 V6 engines. Lol... I say 4.3 V6 engines because when they would hurt the engine Lee would put a stock 4.3 from the junkyard out of a blazer or s10 for Dean and go out and run some more 10 second passes. Only internals that were changed were a set of 1.5 roller tip El cheap O rockers. And they didn't always get put on every engine.

It was Dean's truck, Lee wrenched (and though Dana never drove, she could pilot the crapout of anything...).
I recorded his best as:
Dean Ollar, 10.73@123 (Lee Howie V6 Evenfire Build) 2WD Typhoon
At the shop he had some famous rides that were faster, (lots of mustangs, prostock GN's, two real thunderbolts and such). I had a real hoot hanging around them
(and in my shoe box of photos have lots of memories).
When the last really big SyTy Nat's were held, most of the members will remember the Hoovers, vs McCoy vs Deans/Howie shootout (and the ProTree light controversy at the track).
...seems like only yesterday, but man we're there a cast of characters with trucks back then! Unfortunately, some (like Mary Klaus) have passed away over the years.
Several of these trucks became "templates" for other later builds. For example, when Tim Allen wanted his truck tweaked, GM used my trunk to copy and hired RR to complete/ finish.
Even then I never got reimbursed...
