Got to play with a 85 911 turbo in traffic. It had a healthy cammed up sound, and the guy wasn't afraid to run it! He could pull away from 70 and up but he only got 1 clearing in traffic to do so. In all other cases I could out pull him. We came to a long steep uphill, and I finally got an opening. From ~25mph I got a tire squeaking downshift (thanks Waller) and a good 20 psi pull. I held him off by ~ 5 car lengths all the way up! At the light at the top we talked a bit. I started by saying what an awesome car he had, and it sounds healthy. He said he had a pile of money in the engine, but doesn't have the tuning right. Then he said what's up with that thing, I never saw one, and what the hell did you do to make it go like that. Told him it's mostly stock, he gave me a blank look. Light turned and he yelled I'm going to get you next time Typhoon!

Re: modified 911

Question Mr. Waller, The downshift will rarely chirp the tires, and I will ease up on that. The 1 to 2 up shift always chirps the tires if 3/4 to full throttle is applied. Do you think this is a problem? It shifts all other gears real hard but not enough power to chirp the tires. Everything works great and I just changed the fluid 3k miles on it and it looks and smells normal.Just want to be sure very firm is an ok sign. Thanks!
