Re: Modded WRX

He is very stubborn, I tried to tell him the STi is a much better car, but he doesn't listen. He looks at the $7-8K difference and would rather put the money into the WRX. He doesn't like the STi wing. Ironically his other choice is a GTO which the same price rang as a STi
My truck isn't stock, so I am not too worried about him beating me with a WRX or even a STi. I would start getting a little worried about an Evo though,..he doesn't like those and I am not going to give him idea's on what will give me problems.
If you want to rape him tell him to get the GTO that car is a joke  my neighbor has one that he thought was "so bad ass"and kept talking shit about my "rice burner" until I blew his doors off with the STi from a dig and from a roll so many times that he gave up and stopped asking for more...no more smack talk from him about his "bad ass GTO"
Tell your friend to head to a local autocross and ask for rides in both.
I'm sure there will be both stock STi's and WRX's that the owners thought they could put 7-8k into and be quicker than the STi.
there always is, he'll see the WRX's are not quicker than the stock STi in any aspect.
and he'll be looking at 6k just to get the transmission in there and about another 3k to get the DCCD working
STi has a DCCD, better diffs, better traction control, better transmission, better long block, better brakes, better wheels, better tires.
If he wants to get the WRX to the level of the STi he will spend a lot more than 7-8k and he will not have any type of warranty that the STi would have.
To each his own but, if you can afford the STi and you get a WRX thinking your going to mod it in to an STi or Syclone killer you'll find you wasted your time and effort.
FWIW
Most people never come across a built STi..... this one is nice and will run this tune all day and without a hickup
