Lock rite for the front diff.

I purchased a lock rite from richmond gear for my front diff. this is suppose to positive lock the both front wheels. Is anyone else running this? It seems to be more for 4x4 off road trucks, but I am going to try it. If anyone has any experience with this part, I would appreciate any info.

yup. I've installed 2 of them. they are nice BUT they are torque sensing. meaning that you will not have BOTH front wheels pulling at the same time. if one begins to slip it transfers power to the other. then spins that one and back and forth until they both stop spinning.

makes for some interesting launchs.

just make sure you hold onto the steering wheel. it will try and rip it out of your hands.

not that I dont like it butI prefer my spool better. with it you are getting 100% of both of the fronts pulling.

Did your lock rite you installed ever break or let go in any way? I am wondering about the durability of the unit.
Did you find an actual spool for the front diff. or did you weld up the stocker? I thought I remember reading that you had yours welded. If the lock rite is as unrulely as you are saying, I think I'll try and copy what you did. My truck is going to be pretty much a drag truck with limited street duties, so driveability is kinda low on my priorities.
Did the spool stop most of the torque steer?

I havent had anybody break one yet but it cant last long. the violence of those things is such that it has to give way soon.

I weled mine and I love it, pulls straight and hard, it does drive bad on the road though. it can be fixed though by using a 4x4 front diff system.
