Im planning on getting a B&M tranny cooler and was wondering what sizes, type and how many lines I need to get to make it work? Also anyone have ideas where to mount it. I have the atr aux intercooler in front of the radiator so that wont work.

I have the same ATR cooler int he front of my truck with a tranny cooler right next to it. They both fit just fine. If you really need to see a pic of it i could probably take one since I need to pull the grill in the next week or so anyway. Let me know.

On the tranny, the lines are 1/4" NPT. In stock dress, there is a fitting screwed into the pressure and return side of the tranny to adapt 1/4" NPT to the inverted flare (brake line style) fittings. Unscrew the lines from the fittings, then the fittings from the tranny. Get (2) 1/4" NPT male to 6AN male, 45 degree fittings and screw them into the tranny. For the tranny cooler, get (2) 1/2" NPT male to 6AN male fittings in whatever degree you need; straight, 45 or 90 and screw them into the ports of the B&M cooler. For lines, get 6AN hose; braided or whatever you prefer, and (4) 6AN reusable straight hose ends. That should do it for you unless you want to add a filter, then you'd just splice into your pressure line (lower one). Jegs, Summit, or a parts store that does hydraulic lines should have everything you need

awesome thanks for the help but I have two more question.......What size tranny cooler do I go with? and where do I put it? So far Ive been told to place it in front of the lower heat exchanger b/c I cant put it in front of the radiator with the atr aux intercooler there. Is this a good place?

Re: lines for tranny cooler?

That's totally up to you. Some guys run it tucked in front where your aux cooler is, I don't know as I've ever heard of it in front of the IC exchanger, but I suppose it would work; it would probably block some air from the heat exchanger. If you have room, running it behind the radiator will also work. Some have used frame mounted coolers that kind of look like baseboard heating elements in a house, and Derale makes a cooler / fan combo that some have mounted to the underside of the truck. It doesn't really matter what size cooler you get, as long as you don't go excessively small. The approx. 7"x11" B&M seems to be a popular size as it fits nicely behind the grille and doesn't cover up too much area.
