Does anyone know the part # of the front diff seal? How hard is it to change? What type of fluid do you put back in it?

Which seal, the ones on the axle tubes, case, yoke or ....

Used Valvoline 75-90 fully synthetic, IMO others may say different

If it's leaking from the case, IIRC I just cleaned it up and used Right Stuff sealer and put it back together. Hasn't leaked since, hasn't ran since either :rotf:

Timken #8611N

PLEASE ask for a crossover number as they may tell you the Timken # has to come from the factory.

Re: Leaking front diff seal

Thank you. I got the front propshaft off. Am currently driving w/o it. It's amazing how much that thing adds to these trucks. I can spin the rears forever it seems.
The front tends to act like a 4x4 locked in on dry pavement though, most especially when turning.

Don't beat on it too much without the front propshaft in.. you don't want to take a chance of hurting the transfercase
