Im out scouting for properties today because if I dont get any in the next month Ill have to get me a part time job for the winter which I really do not want to do. So Im cruising along and I get nex t to a silver EVO. He had a couple badges on it tht I didnt recognize but they werent stickers. I blew off in his ear and he gunned it. After about a hlaf a mile of screwing around, we got a light. Problem is, its up a big friggin hill. I went for it anyway. I spooled up and had a sorry ass launch at 16psi, still, took him off the line. This hill is about a 1/4 long Ild say and about half way up it, he got by me pretty good. The sad thing is, before he passed me, there was another car in his way and he had to get behind me for a second and once we passed this other car he was out. Its about 90* today and the truck does feel sluggish. I was very dissapointed in the truck and have been for the last few days. I spent two days tuning knock out for the track on Friday but the funny thing is that the more KR went down hte slower my truck felt. Right now on 18 psi I get a max of 1.3* KR. Oh well, Ill figure somethign out.

Man you have to get some akly injection man and some tuning you'll cleaaan shop!

Get a fund raiser going on here for you to get alky or something im sure it'll promise many more kills so people will go for it :)

You never know what he had in it either, could have bolt-ons and running 11's. I know my stock EVo VIII ran 13.13's @ 103mph which is pretty quick, but my Typhoon made it look slow.

Yeah, whats sucks is htat last night I went tuning after everything cooled off, was about 60* out and I had the front all over the place on an 18psi launch. Unfortunately, I wasnt racing anything.

18psi launch? I your boost gauge accurate? or are you using a trans brake? I have a modded 20g with 3200 stall, 422, vortecs, and headers with built lower end, and get NO were near 18psi off the line. I toasted my stock trans with a few 6-7 psi launches. No problems since the rebuild but have been only able to hold 10 psi at the line before i pushes through the brakes. Kinda interested in how your doing that.

I dont know how I do it, guess you'ld just have to see for yourself. Oddly enough, I dont make that much power in those boost levels anyway so I guess it doesnt really matter.

Do you have any video's of you launching @ 18 psi? How are you not making power at that boost level with a 20g? I make excellent power @18psi with no alky, lookig for my dyno sheets i believe i made over 400 whp no alcohol. . If i push it any higher i spray. I do have the hybrid turbo from Deadbolt with the 60mm turbine.

Just curious, does alttitude have any effect on boost gauges? It seems mine reads 1psi less than it did when i ran the same setup in Florida.

I have tons of video of me launching but the camera is pointed at whatever vehicle Im racing not the boost gauge. As far the power I make goes, its just wierd, sometimes at 18psi, my truck feels like a golden freakin god and then at other times, its just a plain old fat slug. I will say its usually heat related though. Im seriously contemplating going back to 15 psi, and starting tuning all over again. Get the truck to run perfect at that level and then go up from there. Im becoming the poster boy for what not to do when tuning, like tune for boost when youre not done with everything else :lol: I dont think altitude makes the gauge read wrong, but if youre at sea level and your vac/boost gauge reads you 17hg, up here its going to read something like 14 or 15 hg, sometimes 12. Mine reads different frequently and so did my old one.
