So in my desperation to figure out what the hell is wrong with my trans, a friend of mine told me to guy to a local guy as he is a 700 "GOD". Now I know quite a few people who take thier stuff to this guy and he seems to do very good work, but as we all know, SYTY's are different. So I take the VB down there and show it to him. He starts to tell me if I am having VB issues that I should just get a new one, right away I know he knows dick about SYTY's. So I tell him they dont make it anymore. He proceeds to tell me they are the same as the Corvette and the Z28 :roll: I just shut up and let him look at it since he wasnt charging me. So he sees I had the line bias valve blocked off and says holy shit!! I havent seen that ever done unless it was one I did. Im thinking yeah ok. Then he asks me what I did to the trans and I go through the list and at the end I mentioned I flipped the accumulator pistons in the 4th. He actually told me that he invented that(or discovered). Im like oh cool :bs: So far, this guy has done nothign but blow smoke up my ass, then he starts telling me hes going to charge me double to fix my **** ups. I had told him on the phone previously that he diudnt have to look at it but just wondering what his thoughts were on it and he said...bring it down here so I can see, me....how much cash should I bring ya????? him.....NONE!! Ok, so, yeah, this guy was a handful, I think he was joking about that part but who knows. So the kicker of it all, he tells me everythign looks fine except that the 3/4 valve was not pushed in all the way with the roll pin. Still doesnt explain no down shifting, fine, so this guy tells me to put it up on jackstands and rev it til it hits 120mph. Im like yeah riiight. He looks at me with a straight face and says why not? I said because what if the truck comes off the stands, Ill drive right into a concrete wall, he say, better than your garage door and smiles :rotf: Anyway, I thought that sounded a bit ookie bt maybe Ill try it if I get desperate enough.
