Re: inspection cover for 80e conversion

Waking this thread up....

Updated the trans to a 60E.

Although it may provide some cooling relief to the converter without the cover, I plan on driving in the winter so it would be better off with a cover.

Checked a few sites: novak, trans dapters etc, and could not find anything, but asked them if they made anything...

Seems a straighforward deal. Outline the rear oil pan, cut out for starter and then profile/outline the lower housing. The holes for the lower bell housing are large, so a piece of rubber in that hole, so when you tighten the bolt it compresse the rubber and holds it in place.

If anyone McGuyvered their own, would love to see some pics.

Modify stock, I believe I just cut off the front lip. The bolts lined up just fine.

Hmmm sounds good. If someone tries this before I do, please post pics.

Re: inspection cover for 80e conversion

I am not running one in my truck but I have put an 80e in another car that I had to trim the ears off the trans I just did the same thing to the stock cover and have no problems.

On my personal cars I run no cover
