idle jumping up and down????

stock sy with 160 thermostat,when it is cold outside while cruising above 2k rpm i let off the gas and the idle goes down to 1k and then starts to surge from 1k to 2k several times with my foot off the gas pedal.any ideas?TIA

do you have a 9/11 converter...I have noticed this on several trucks that have this converter. try freadjusting your idle stop screw this seems to help

I had the same symptoms when one of my plug wire boots wasnt seated properly.
