IAC still throwing a code

Well, I still can't figure it out. I've checked everything I could think of and my truck's still throwing a code. Not only this, but the truck is idling kinda high. High enough so that if I let off the brake, it will accelerate and shift into second without me touching the gas. Then, when I put it in park after driving it for a little bit, the RPM's jump up to about 1800 and slowly work their way down the longer I let it sit idling. I'm sure someone on here has had this same problem before, or someone's got to know what's wrong. Any suggestion?

Most likley a massive vacuum leak somewhere.

I have had the occasional IAC valve that was so sticky it would idle high and set a 35, however they also tend to cause a decel stall condition.

My money is on the vacuum leak.

Well, I just tried to do the vacuum check with the bike tube and I can hear what sounds to be an air leak behind my intake. I can't really tell where it's coming from, but I found two hose fittings that don't have hoses connected to them. They are on the IACV/ coolant cover to throttle body. It's the piece below the throttle body that has the IAC connected to it. I know they aren't vacuum hoses, but I don't know if hoses are supposed to be connected to them or not. The faster you can fespond, the better. I've got to get my truck back together tonight whether it's fixed or not.

The bike tube trick is used to check for leaks in the intercooler, it's not a very valid test for leaks in the motor.

Use a spray can of carb cleaner. Spray around the throttle body, intake, all the lines, etc. Watch for a rise or fall in rpm, or a sucking noise of some sort.

You will get a small leak around the throttle shaft, thats somewhat normal.

Those two ports you mention are supposed to be open. They aren't used on the syty application.

Damn. That tube was hard as hell to get on the intercooler. My hands really hurts. Thanks for the speedy response. I'll go try the carb cleaner.
