Is changing the governer the only way to change the shify point? I tried the TV cable didn't make any different onthe shift point at WOT. Where is the governer locate on the tranny? Don't need to drop it to change it?
Thanks alot .
jericojo (shifting at really low rpm)

yep...if the TV cable doesnt change it enough for you then the Governor is the only other option.

Tighten (press the "D" and push the cable towards the driver fender) or loosen the TV cable raises the shift point? I know tighten the cable gives you a harder shift.

Technically the cable should be pulled all the way out when the throttle is all the way opened. If your shifts aren't high enough then, you need to mess with the governer (or a higher stall converter will raise it a bit when it's not in lockup). It's $40 for the B&M governer kit but kind of a pain to get the cover off + you'll end up changing weights and springs a few times.

How low does it swift ?
if its less than 4000 then you have to check the line pressure
Its not that difficult if you lift the truck

I got a Brian Harthman TC and valve body mod, It start at 4100 rpm from 1st to 2nd and then keep dropping tru each gear. 2nd to 3rd @ 3900 , 3rd to 4th @ 3500, this at WOT .
thanks

no it wont have any power at 2600 thats for sure....you probably need to make sure the TV acble is adjusted properly and then mees with the governor...push in or the D...andslide the inner part of the cable all the way to the drivers side...then with the engine off, open the throttle all the way open with your hand on the throttlr body and you should see, hear, and feel the resistance as the cable adjusts itself...you may wish to try tightening the cable 1 or 2 Clicks from there but..you may also begin to limit the WOT position of the TB...

just another Q
how many miles do you have ?
is your engine in good condition ?
i experienced something like this when i had broken pistons.
i also think that you have your tv cable properly adjusted

check the tranny pressure, youll need only 1 hour

My ty has 76k , I am the original owner. The first 70K miles i baby it but the last 5k (about last 3 years) i been "beat on it". My engine is in great shape, no smoke. Mods are:
255 ltr hp pump
atr cat back
pte 51 combo
msd 6al
ultimate chip
kb cold air
BH tc 9/11 and vaule body mod
other little shit

before all this I use to run 13.3 no 13.5 sucks! It goes to show more you spend dosent mean it is going to get any faster. I know "TUINING" but I'm learning, the hard way. My wife thinks I am obess with this shit, I think I am. Sometine I feel like bolw this mother up and get a new hobby.

I did the valve body mod, it was straight forward, undo the C clip thing dorp the old one out and out the new one in.
How do you check tranny pressure, I assume you need a pressure guage of some sort. Is that what that rubber line untop of the tranny is for?

No, thats for venting.
On the left side, not too high ,you will find a small plug.Thats it.
You have to fit a pressure gauge that reads about 500 psi
Check the manual at 7A1-2 for the pressure you have to find

Are you running a scan tool of some kind? A friend of mine was pullinng out timing on the upper shifts with the ultimate. The rpms dropped liked yours. Once we got it dialed in tuning wise the shift points came back.
Are you getting high kr on your shift points? What injecters are you running? And fuel Pressure? How much boost?

You may have everything above already under control. I am not questioning your syty knowledge, but rather passing on an experience that acted somewhat the same.

John
