How should it shift?

How hard should a stock trans Sy shift? Mine shifts real hard and my friend's shifts very soft. We adjusted his cable to the factory setting and then to several different positions and it barely changed.

The cigarette lighter and/or the ashtray should fly out on the launch,then your neck should snap back on 1-2 shift.
It should shift in the 4000-4300 range I think (don't quote me on that :-? )

It was like that when I bought the truck,something probably broken with it.
It's sitting on my workbench now (weight savings :wink: )

I would never use an ashtray in any car,lot easier to just flip them out the window.

mine shifted like a mofo 1-2 at 3/4 throttle, on the street where i work if i turned out up a hill, dry, no sand, i could break all four and swing the truck hella sideways. (3/4 throttle 1-2)

Would the firmness of the shift be changed any by a loser converter say the (9-11 2800 stall) and would it alos be softened by the fact that the truck has a 5000rpm gov in it?
