Ok here goes. The ty had to go in for more work. So the mechanic finds out that the tranny downshift cable has play in it and when you hit the gas it would hold back the throttle by about 25%. So he takes off the downshift cable and the throttle now opens fully. He says lets go for a ride. So we go and he is shifting it manually because the cable is disconnected. Anyway after like five minutes of riding we go back to the shop and thats it for the night. Now the next morning he finds a vac leak that we have been hunting for and fixes that. I am at work and not around to see whats going on at this time. So he says that he went for a ride and the ty boosted harder and he knew he had fixed the problem. Anyway the new problem he says is that my tranny is now BAD! What!!!! I can't beleive it! The Ty ran MINT the day before when we were both in it and all the others times i had it. The tranny was already replaced on 8/27/01. The fluid was bright red, no contaminents visible, no noise, no warning. He says that it goes in to first then second and then when it goes into third it's not there. He said it's as if it were in neutral. My ? is can this happen? It ran fine. Doe sit have anything to do with that cable?

There are laws against removing/tampering with safeguards and selling/passing off vehicles in mechanically working/good condition during a sale...

Do yourself a favor: gather your documentation so far regarding the sale, statements/documentation from your mechanic, pictures,etc.. and CONTACT AN ATTORNEY!!!!

Quit your whining unless you're going to make a conservative effort to screw the dude who screwed you.. Sorry but I didn't take it up the ass when I was sold my Typhoon in a similar manner.. Why should you...

This has nothing to do with us winning or losing.. It has to do with you winning or losing.. If there's even a remote posibility of recovering damages you should persue a case.. not for us, but for yourself..

Just some steps to get you started:

1. Get a letterhead from an attorney stating you are pursuing legal action & fax it to the previous owner along with the buisness that built the motor in Indiana..
2. Call the Better Buisness Burough in the city the Engine Builder is located in & report them...
3. Contact the Emmissions refferee in that city for safeguard/tampering info..
4. Contact the Indiana state DMV regarding vehicle tampering & lemon laws..
5. Contact the local Prosecutor & Prosecutor of the town in Indiana for info regarding vehicle tampering & lemon laws..

BTW: Most if not all of these operations are
only open M-F 8am-5pm.. including most
if not all attorneys.. collect your info
wait until Monday.. Then tear the
suckers a new asshole..

if you unhook the TV cable YOU WILL BURN UP THE TRANNY.....THE TV CABLE controls line pressure and without line pressure nothing in the tranny is going to work correctly if at all.....I would find this ass and get him to pay for another trany...R&R included...

Dude that guy fucked your tranny up, JWaller is right, for no reason sould your TV cable been taken off, he sould of known that!!! There is no other tranny cable for the tranny on the throttle bracket, just the TV cable.

I think he means the mechanic took the TV cable off. Yes, if you take loose the TV cable on a 700R4 trans, it will slip between gears even if you manually shift it. It will burn up the trans if you drive it that way for a while. But before you assume the trans is burned up, make sure he reconnected the cable. If the cable is unhooked, the trans will feel like it is gone even if it is new. Check to see if the cable is hooked back up and adjusted right, before you decide that the trans is really bad. NEVER again let any one drive it that way.

I agree. It is unfortunate but you really got roped into a RAW DEAL! I think you should track down the bandit who is responsible for this and have him sentenced to no less than five years in a Federal <font size="+1">"POUND ME IN THE ASS" Prison</font>!!!!
