anyone here recommends using a 2800 or 2600 tc on a stock truck and what's the improvement on daily driving and boost launch

I can't see it being needed at all. If anything it will be worse as a DD and could cut into gas mileage if you are worried about that. And you should be able to build as much boost with a stock truck as you want so I don't see it helping you get off the line by helping spool the turbo.

I think it could be money better spent.

Agreed. From what I know, which isn't much but anyway from what I know the stock TC is well suited for the stock set up. Money cant be invested into other goodies or stashed for a later build.

Unless youre planning on changing out the turbo later, I wouldnt touch the converter now. Stock I believe is 2400, you wont gain anything right now from a converter upgrade.

Re: help choosing tc

well downt the year am planning on bigger turbo and injectors so curious to know how the stock set up will act with a bigger torque converter and will it spool up the turbo quicker on launches and driving the road

Re: help choosing tc

Stock is 2050 - 2100.

A looser stall will mean that you end up overboosting the turbo earlier on so it will pull timing and buck and not be much fun unless you make your wastegate compensate.

It's similar to the effects of removing the catalytic converter - you'll have the boost come on more quickly but it will be ineffective due to the looser TC.

As for launches, it'll spool higher than normal and when you floor it on the street, it'll spool very high but you might find that the response is slower.
