Hard shift from first to second

Like it has a shift kit.
I've only driven two sy/ty vehicles in my life and they both did this. Is that normal?

I'd imagine that's normal b/c i just spent almost 3k on a rebuild and it does it harder then ever now

Mine also has hard 1st to 2nd shifts! 63000 miles.

Hard shift is normal, the harder the better :tup: No pun intended!

113K on mine and shifts nice and hard into second!

Ive heard our 1-2 shift put at neck breakingly hard. 100% normal.

If it doesn't have a stiff 1-2 shift their is a problem. FYI Shift kits will actually soften the 1-2 shift.

I take some tension off the tv cable while daily driving . Then when i go to the track i tighten it back up. It make the commute to work in the morning more comfortable. That hard shift when the transmission is cold is brutal.

It is just the nature of the beast to have a very firm 1-2 shift so you should be ok

We have a specific valve body.

Actually a lot of guys ask about adding a SHIFT KIT ... but that USUALLY decreases performance.

A hard shift is a GREAT thing in these trucks ---
