Is it that whining sort of noise that changes with speed? About the only thing I know of that makes that kind of noise is a transfer case. My 4x4 does it as well as the Sy. If it's super loud you might have prolems, but for it to be audible with the radio off is no reason for concern.

I myself have no radio in the Ty and i hear it all the time, mainly at low RPM.

I have NO Idea what the previous 2 owners have done. I myself have had #24 for 700 miles in 4 months so ive done nothing to her.
