Front Pinion Seal Replacement

Front pinion seal is leaking. Do I need any special tools? Does the yoke need to be reistalled to a specific torque range? Any preference on a brand of seal?
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Later, Jeff.

Re: Front Pinion Seal Replacement

As for special tools, just a impaqct to remove the large nut holding it on. Mark the nut with a marker ( bright color) so you can re install it back to the same spot. Count the threads showing so you know how far you are going with the nut back onto the threads. It's not a 100% perfect job, but I have done several that way and they have all been good to go. If you overtighten the nut the clearances will be different from factory and it can creat gear whine.

If you over tighten the nut you will also ruin the pinion bearings. I have done several as mentioned above with success.
