front diff traction

Ok, i would like to know what my options are for making my truck a 4 legger rather than the open diff.

Is there a limited slip? or am i stuck with a locker. Is ther e-locker, or cable or air locker i could turn on when i want to go strait?

This truck will be 90% street driven, although it will be a toy that will hardly get driven.

Re: front diff traction

A few have done the locker in the front, every one I know that did it went back to stock. 4wheels spinning = no control over anything and dangerous. They don't generally go straight either.

There is not a posi available.

Re: front diff traction

Waller uses a std 4x4 passenger side axle shaft because it has the provisions to lock the front diff in and out with a cable.

Do a search on diff cable axle tube and you will find some posts on it.

IIRC one of the posts this search will turn up also has pics of a welded-up front "spool" (also Waller).

Re: front diff traction

ok so no good way to do it but the 4x trick is cool and then weld the front diff up, and you have 4.

on the other hand its bad for the vc. i dont want new stuff to wear out fast, these damn things already have enough problems even keeping them stock.

i guess ill make the decision when my motor finally gets installed and i get it tuned right
Thanks guys
