Frnt diff lubricant

Was under the Ty yesterday checking things over before planned GAST meet. I loosened the drain plug on the front diff to check fluid level. Well none came out, stuck finger in and felt nothing. What is a good replacement dope to fill it with? TIA

fill it with some 80-90. I've never had any luck with trying to drain them via the pump method. if you want to drain them I've always unbolted the pass side axle tube and let if come out there. but there is always the good chance you'll create a leak.

Re: Frnt diff lubricant

There are those who like synthetic oil and those who don't, but I use Amsoil 75W90 in the differentials that I build. It is compatable with regular oil, so if you don't get it all out it won't cause a problem. It seems that low oil in the front is common on the 7.2 IFS. I have rebuilt a few that burned up due to low oil level.
