i didn't know where to post it but anyway i bought a 93 frame from someone and the problem is the frame has been clip. i tried to find the vin on it (driver side) with no luck i even tried to look on passenger side with no luck either. when closer inspection i found out that the frame did not have factory weld where the front half and rear half meet. the guy i bought it from is giving me a hard time saying that i'm pretty much wrong. and willing to give me back a little money. the frame is worth nothing but scrap. if anyone can post some picture's for me so i can get option's maybe he can do better than he offered me back as i had to drive 1000 miles there and back and paid 450 for the frame. he then tried to tell me the rear end, torsion bars and front control arms are worth about 350 when i told him there is nothing special about those parts. i need the frame for a custom project that i'm doing. i thought i was buying a ty frame not a chop up frame. i even offer him to find someone in ny that he can trust to come look at it.

You bought a 4x4 blazer/jimmy/typhoon/bravada frame. They are all the same. Further more it was an "as is" sale. The typhoon that it came from was a parts ty and was listed as such. The seller got it in trade and parted it out. It was your job to inspect the frame before you left. The fact the seller offerd you some $$ back shows his willingness to make things right. But your here bitching about it.... says alot about you. I think you should accept your mistake and move on.
Ive seen this "Scrap" frame in person and it looked quite usable to me.

For the record, I am the seller.
Although I have not dug too deep into your pictures, if you say that there are rewelded joints and damage, so be it. With the information you know about hidden vin stamps, etc, you know much more than I do about the frames. I will accept your word and do not feel the need to have another party come out.
I originally sold you the frame/rear diff/rear springs/torsion bars/ft control arms for $375. Since it took an extra month to come pick up, you had offered to give me an extra $75 for my time.
Lets take the $375 for now and can tackle the $450 part shortly.
From this $375, rear diff $75, rear springs $50, torsion bars $25, ft susp $100, frame $125. Are those reasonable numbers?
I sent every picture in the areas you had asked and even specifically noted that I do not see the stamp by the fuel filter. I can go to my gmail and provide dates and times.
I apologize sincerely that you are not happy, but if there was an apparent issue, I would have assumed you would have caught it when you picked up, even though it was 3:00 am.
I pride myself as being a stand up person, and again apologize for the inconvenience, and offered $100 back for the frame. I am open to suggestions.
I think we both agree that there were no intentions of selling something that was apparently damaged.

Well put! I've also seen the frame and saw no physical issues with it at all. In fact, I thought it was quite clean! Maybe post some pictures of the problem areas you speak of and we can see what they are. I know that the seller also sent all pics requested of tags and stampings to you before you even drove out so if there was any question, you could have researched it a little before hand. I think the fact that he offered you some money back states that he is a stand up guy and willing to help out to make you happy.

1st of all, if you read my post I never blasted anyone. I wanted someone to post the pic so maybe Matt would understand that the frame isn't any good. What I wanted was just a rolling frame so I would make it easier to move around and that's what I paid for. I didn't need anything else. I couldn't get a chance to inspect it due to when I got there (which was 3am), it downpoured (Matt can vouch for that). It rained all the way back to NY. Also Matt, the hidden VIN was to tell me if it was a 93 or 92, that's why I asked you to sand in that area. When you showed me the 9/ 90 on the frame I did't know what that was until I looked at my truck. It was when the frame was made. I never said that you where a person to rob anyone at all, like your buddy trying to claim from Ohio. What I said is the frame ain't no good to me other than scrap since it was clipped. And all you want to do is give me back 100? It did take a couple of weeks for me to get there and I told you what I had to do to my truck to get there. As far as who looked at the frame you must be blind; if you look at it close enough you would have seen the man-made welds. And Matt, since the frame wasn't no good now you want to charge me for the rear, torsion bar, and front control arms which ain't syty specific? So back to what I was saying can anyone post some pic to end this?

ain't no one said it was as is sale. i trusted a member on here. i don't care how he got it and i do know what frames fit. before you go and starting sh** you should really look how long i have been a member on here. and for only 100 back that is a spit in the face. i don't know how you do business out there but in ny we don't do that type of sh** . as far as you seen it guess your blind that you couldnt see the man made welds down the middle of the frame and the 9/90 on the driver side

what do you need Pictures off? As far as the VIn on the frame, I have seen them by the fuel filter and 3 feet back from there, and the "stamping" isnt very deep so the frame need to be real clean,

If they were that obvious why didn't you notice them when you looked at it in his well lit, dry garage?? I admit I didn't see anything out of the ordinary but then I wasn't looking to buy either so I didn't give it a thorough inspection like you should have done. If you don't know how to post a pic of the problem area, send it to me and i'll post it up for you brian@ehrley.com I tried finding the vins myself and couldn't find them anywhere on that frame and I pretty much knew where they should have been. Now they may have been removed when the truck got re-vined I don't know, but Matt did send you a pic of the NY state sticker that was placed on the frame as well.

when i got to his house i had to wake him up. i was just trying to get the frame on the trailer to head back to ny as it was pouring down i did a straight run there and back. the truck was prob revin do to a 907a meaning the truck must have been hit hard where they had to do a rear clip. i did see that sticker but that doesn't mean anything. i know the vin on 93 is on driver side and the 92 is on passenger side. there was a 9/90 on the side frame on the driver side which at that time i didn't know what that meant until i look at my ty and it's the production date of the frame. i will send you a couple pic to post. thank you.

92 AND 93 TYS VIN IS ON DRIVERS FRAME RAIL,

the date you see below, is not a month year date, It might be a 6th week 92 year , unless gm has figured out how to go back in time

when i meet you you seemed cool i have no reason to have any clue that you knew about the frame had damage to it. but far as the parts that you mention rear, etc. i told you on the phone that all i need is the frame for a custom project you then sold the body you drop the price i don't need the stuff you mention. with the extra i gave you, you still ended up with the asking price. it took me a couple of weeks to pick it up do to the fact i had to do a motor, transmission, front diff,and front end to come out there to get a ty frame ( i know that there is a couple different trucks that have the same frame it's just nice to say i have a ty frame). i told you on the text's that i sent you that i was going to post it on syty to see what people said about the frame maybe by hearing everybody you would make me an better offer than just 100 since now it's scrap. if you look at my post i never said who or where i got it from you buddy in ohio blew your spot up. i also have all the pic and email, texts that you sent me. maybe when the pictures come up you will work it out

nobody "blew my spot up". as soon as I saw the post I said I was the seller.
We are on the same page on the fact that I did not know it was damaged, it appears.
Right now, we are just trying to come up with a value.

This is typically a tight knit, small community that must look out for each other. All I want to do is to come up with something to make a win win situation, however, not going to get taken advantage of. I immediately offered something back. I feel that there is value to the other components also (diff, control arms, etc).
