Took the Sy out today. No rain but overcast nice and about 55deg. I was getting on the freeway not going fast when a new mustang decited he was not going to let me in front of him. He punched it to get in front of me. He was a younger kid in his mid 20's in a 05 mustang gt. I said what the hell and soon I was hitting 15lbs of boost. Next thing I new I was over 90mph and he was 5 car lengths behind. I let off but he came around me, gave me the finger and cut me off. I decited to go again. Man these trucks can go from 80-100 pretty quick. I got right on his side, shook my head and almost missed my exit.

Out of 20 people I talked to about my truck only 4 knew about them and of the 4 only 1 realy knew what it can do. Even my father-in-law said nice little truck. When I said it is faster then his 2000 corvette he smiled. I said just wait till next summer. We will see

yeah. my friend has a 03 with a pulley, exhaust, and computer work. I will wait till I can at least get my truck dialed in better. He ate up my 300hp GTP. my guess is he is in low 12's on street tires. My GTP did a best time of 13.6 @ 101mph

I raced a Cobra @ a track.. all done up. He ran 11.65 @ 114
I ran 12.60 @ 105

Yeah, LSx motor top end ownes all if they are modded. Or if your stock.

You should feel what its like to do 60-100 in a modded truck. oh oh oh oh OH. :lol:

0-60 My syclone rocks. After that my GTP was faster. Thinking about what to do next. Does the Alky injection help on stock motors and turbo's?? would it be worth getting with the mods I have now or Should I buy something else first? Engine will get a full rebuilt next winter.

GIP have you run your truck with the current MODS? I'd guess bottom teens or hi-12's if it is tuned. Any way nice kill. I almost had my chance with one but it I was already in the turn lane when he pulled up next to me with a shit eating grin. Man I need a kill. Look out come spring w/o winter rims and snow tires and another tune session.

my GTP was in mid 13's. The sy is faster. I would guess low 13's. After a real good tune mabe high 12's. My goal is a solid 12 truck. Got to drive it around today. I love this truck. It has it weird personality but from what I gather they all do. Soon as I get my aldl cable I will have to ask a local guy for help on my truck.

Whooohoooo. Got kill #2. Some 40ish guy in what looked like an older corvette (87-89) cut me off for no reason. At the next light, I pulled next to him and gave him a look. He said some bad words at me. I said some back. When the light turned green he took off hard, real hard. So did I. Goodby jerk I said as I passed him up. Only took it to 60mph and he was way back there. I figured a guy that old would know about these trucks??? My neighbor has a 65 mustang with a 351. pushing about 400hp, do you think I can take him?? we will be racing for a full tank of gas. It will be a full 1/4 mile. I want to wait till I can datamaster my truck first.

He hung with me as we merged going 80mph. Not sure I was holding him back at all. he was 2 car lengths behind and did not come up on me untill I let off at 90mph. I left the fast lane for him and he went by going 100mph or so. I gave him a thumbs up. Fast little car. He had some mods. Sounded nice with aftermarket exhaust. figured he would take me in the 1/4. I need a bit more hp soon nice run though. would like to find him and ask what he has and run him from a dig. (after I get my truck tunned)
BTW my 8 year old son thought it was cool. He likes watching my guage hit 1 bar.

OMG.... I had to post this. Ok my fault in that I tend to hate bmw drivers. A guy in a 330ci turned right as I was driving strait on the road. I had to move over a lane then I cut him off by going back into the right lane. He got into the left and pulled next to me at the light. He looked pissed and had a nice looking GF in the car with him. I guess he was showing off. A young guy in his mid 20's. He gave me the bird and I said he could go F himself. When the light turned green he jumped on it hard. I did too. I said goodby looser. I pulled way ahead and stayed that way until I let off at 70.(45mph zone) At the next light he was behind me and I could see his lady laughing at him. His 40k bmw got spanked by a 15 year old truck. LOL, sorry I think thats funny.

I never really try to race my truck, but once these guys on a Mecedes Kompressor followed me for about a good 7-9 miles as I was driving home from school...they were right on my ass. To make a long story short, we stopped at a light and the passenger says to me "You ready?", and I stupidly respond "for what?"..so they respond by reving their cars engine. I revved up to 2600k RPM'sand as soon as the Green light comes on I went a little over half-way on the throttle, my tires chirped, and took off like an ass raped banshee. I saw them in my rear view mirror with this expression on their faces :shocked!: ... After they caught up to me they gave me the thumbs up.
Good job for representing the Sy/Ty's, a lot of peple don't know what they are...and I sure like keeping it that way.....Sorry for the highjack........

I too dont race much. I have never been to a real track. I have done some street racing in other cars when I was younger, but I got the SY because I dont need a DD anymore (work van) and I always wanted one. I had a 92' sonoma for 12 years. I did not want to sell it and missed driving in a little truck like it. Most people dont have a clue what we drive. I had a guy say I know that things fast, but had no idea whats under the hood. Most guys think I have a V8. I had a guy in a toyota pickup rev next to me. It was the funniest thing. some guy down my street has a ss camaro and keeps reving it up by my house. I wont race him because I can hear the supercharger under the hood. I dont think I will have a chance against him.

Get it tuned and go for it. An SS w/a power adder S/B fast but, with a GOOD launch he'll be chasing you most of the way in a 1/4 mile race. Most stock 6sp drivers have 2.0 sec+ 60' times. If you lose you'll still get respect 'cause he had to catch up to you. Keep us posted. Man I can't wait 'til spring.

ok Its on. I took a different way home today from picking up my son and guess who I saw on the road double parked. He is a young kid in his early 20's. He had a bunch of people around his car. A few cute young girls too. I slowed way up to check out his ride. Nice camaro ss. All black. sounds nice, looks clean. One guy said to me "hay, you are on the wrong street"??? I gave him a thumbs up and he just gave me a look. I gota get my truck tuned with alky and a 3 bar and chip and find him. I hope with that I should be in high 12's and will be close enough to give him a good run.
