First gear shift...MPH

At WOT, my truck shifts out of first @ 20-23 MPH. This is on a launch too. IM thinking it seems a little low but everyone Ive talked to locally on the phone says thiers is pretty clsoe to that. What wold I need to do to change to shift at 30-35MPH and would this be bad or good idea? I dont understand why this would be a good shift point in the firstplace. If this isnt a bad idea, does anyone have a governor already set up for this that wold work? If so let me know.

My truck is closer to 25-27mph. I really depends what RPM your transmission shifts at. Mine is 4300-4400 which is upper end of what I have seen stock SyTy trannys shift at. My old Ty shift at 3900-4000rpm which seem really low to me. I remember Wade's Ty (93 Ty 2185) shift at like 4100-4200 rpm 1-2 and ran 12.6 on the stock Turbo, so obviously the short 1-2 shift wasn't killing his times.

Right now mine shifts around 5200 rpm (~34 mph?), but that is hitting the rev limiter!!! I've started another thread discussing that problem. Previously mine shifted 1-2 at around 4500, not sure the exact road speed.

They are hydraulic so every one will be a tad different. No way around that.
