exhaust question

The previous owner removed the 'Y' piece, both mufflers and one of the pipes on my Sy. He put on some low restiriction muffler, but now I've only one stock pipe after the cat. I'm affraid, that's not enough. I tried to check the restriction of the system with rev it up to 2500 rpm in neutral and check vacum readings. There is a drop when I apply throttle but the readings are the same at steady 1000 and 2500.

What do you think?

i say ditch the muffler all together, and just run a piece of pipe from the cat out. not loud, works good 8)
