Dual Core installed

I installed the Dequick intercooler yesterday, although it wasn't a perfect fit, it was better than I expected, only major issue is the up pipe touches the hood (stock hood), it closes, but not like it should.

Performance wise it's sweet, much better than the KB, made a pass with 22 psi from 0-120 mph and mat temps went up about 10 degrees, the KB was closer to 100 degrees.

It's really too bad Tony can't run a business.

Jim Bell told someone that their intercooler was like 3 times better than Tony's, so you better go back to KB

One other thing I noticed after going to hotair for a day, pressure loss, I'm not sure where all the boost was going, but with the KB I was losing a lot of pressure, the dequick is pretty close to just having a straight pipe.

Without touching the actuator I went from 24 psi with the KB to 30 in hotair/alky, then I moved it back to make 22 in hotair and that's about what I'm getting with the dequick.

Yep, my truck runs pretty cool, but it did go about 10-15 degrees. Right now the weather here in MN is so cool I can't give it the real test, but I'm assuming I might have to upgrade the cooling system. Personally I think its worth it at this point, trying to run 10's with a mild combo takes a sacrifice here and there.

Hey, Mark, say hello to the other Mark for me.

Where did you get your setup from, Tony himself? How much etc...

You have a PTE 63E correct?

Anybody wanna guess how much mph a full weight Ty can run with the stock Upper IC?

Thanks, Christian

I got it from a friend, only had 25 miles on it. I think he waited 6-7 months from tony.

I think larry's TY went like 117, I'd bet that's close. After I blew up the KB, I bolted on the stocker for a day, it just didn't work, with everything working properly my mats hit 225 degrees from a 0-100 blast, I didn't have the balls to run out the rest of the 1/4.

Glad to hear that last part. I was making sure it wasn't my setup. Our MATs are really high as well, and we're looking at some intrercooling options.

I guess it's Mike Lee, BG's buddy, or my DIY.

I've got the stock upper IC and I've hit 12.0's and some high 11's...so has several other ppl I know of....but mats are usually approaching 200 near the finish line.

when did you order your IC. Mine was ordered on July 15th and I still dont have it. That MF told me back in the first week in August I would have it in no more than 4 days. It was on a July statement and still dont have the damn thing, he's got his money already. Im cancelling the order if I dont have it by friday when I leave to go to bristol. I guess just call and deny charges. I was able to talk to him last monday and guess what "Oh yeah Im gonna ship it tommorrow". Ya know I dont mind waiting a year for something but be damned if I get lied to..........

I wish the guy would just be strait up and tell me an estimated time. If I had known it was goin to be like this I would have bought some cores and had one built dont care what the price would be.

you actually fell for the "i'm gonna ship it tomorrow line?" dont you pay attention on this board? Be lucky if you get anything, if you do get something feel privelaged if he included the piping.

Dammit I wish I would learn to read the entire post.

Well it would be nice if someone (of a reliable nature) could come up with a dual core ----------hint -------------hint.

Maybe someone reading this!!!!!

Well If I dont have it by when I leave for Bristol on friday I will call and deny charges and request a credit on my card. This is a royal pita for the merchant and the buyer though.

I consider the CAS intercooler impossible to get nowadays, I ordered one along time ago and just couldn't stand the *uckin BS, I ended up canceling the order.

If my friend hadn't called the same week I was looking for an intercooler, I would have bought a custom FM from Mike. I seen a diacom file of it on Jordan's ty and it worked just as well as the CAS.

Well Jordan didnt have AC so we were able to locate his core in front of the radiator, which helps. His setup is also a tad different then my production unit (same core, different piping).

As for the dual IC i'm not really a believer to tell you the truth. Sure the MAts look good b/c there is so much volume, but what about the pressure drop, efficiency, etc. You really wouldnt know this unless you hooked up two boost gauges and did some datalogging which i dont think anyone has. My point is that a single properly sized IC mounted in your desired location will most likely outperform a dual core.
