The book is no help, because I do not have any preexisting marks on my flanges. Going to have to do it the hard way and rotate it. Ill let you all know.:rant:

keep us posted! I was reading the book too and it says everything has to be in relation with each other. front and rear diff, driveshaft, prop shaft, half shafts flanges etc. mine has all been apart and there aren't any factory marks or guidance as too where everything needs to be! should be thrilling trying to figure all this out!

taking a stab in the dark here but does everyone that has a vibration have there trucks lowered ? we need to find the common denominator in all the trucks to look for a cause.

Not lowered here. I did have the truck in the air and started rotating the propshaft in 90 degree increments. And let the ty run in the air and looked at the drive shaft and prop shaft and the both of them look smooth each time. And now I just got back from a drive and it still has the problem

I have the vibration and mines lowered. I' also have solid mounts on the motor so that doesn't help much either. I have a Gilbert HD prop shaft but I think it needs balancing since I don't see any weights on it. The rear pinion angle looks good though and the driveshaft was shortend and balanced for the typhoon transfer case since it's a 32 spline and longer case but maybe I should get it rebalanced also.

Upon further inspection, I seem to have found a faint yellow marking on the transfercase side and I have a similar yellow marking on my old tcase does anyone else have this same marking? If so which way should this be facing down?

The rotation of where your x-fer case sits in relation to where your diff. pinion(s) sit will have no influence on a driveline vibration. It's the shaft itself which has to be aligned, front to back. In other words, your u-joints have to be aligned.

did you watch the front axles at all? i am wondering if it is a front axle issue?

Unlikely an axle issue, since the axles are rotating at wheel speed, not drive shaft speed.
Any imbalance here would not feel like a "buzz" or "hum", but more a "wobble" or "shake".

Mine is lowered as well with same vibration but I had before it was lowered as well. I'm running urethane motor mounts so that may absorb some of it but i'm sure it would be worth with solids. I aligned my front prop shaft with the driveshaft, then turned it 180 degrees and it made no difference. Seems theres a lot of us with this issue...

The u-joints are in line, I did pay attention to the cv axles and there was not any no normal movement. Any ideas on where to next? :rant::rant:

if i had a buzz or a humm i would not worry as much but being that is a full shakey wobble it is pretty irritating

that's what I have... mirrors shake, steering wheel shakes, rear hatch squeeks. It's fine up to about 55-60, 60 + it's real bad.

Ok, today I took my propshaft to my local driveline shop and had him inspect it and he said that I should just take it back to checker and and have them order me a new one because the u-joints are not lining up. So I took it to checker and they did a warrenty exchange on it and it will take 10 business days to get here.

Today my new propshaft finally came in because checker lost it, I installed it and the viberation is gone. I took it all the way to 90 MPH and it felt smooth. This was the fist time I have ever drove my typhoon with everything working properly :lol::lol:

Hmmm wonder if I need to get my prop shaft balanced? Its an aftermarket Gilbert but I guess its possible...
