Do I need to remove the lower ball joint to get the drive axle off? I have everything disconnected but i cant get it completely off. I need help.

do you need a specific ball joint remover? or will a rubber hammer be ok? will i need a front alignment afterwards?

You'll need to really swing a rubber hammer! Use a dead blow hammer, 5lb sledge, huge prybar, etc.; I've never had one that didn't give me trouble. You won't need an alignmnet after if you don't mess with anything. Just pop the ball joints, pull the shaft and reverse the process.

i got everything removed and changed out the cv axles. everythings back together and it still has the exact same clunking noise. ive already changed out the torsion bar mounts. the clunking noise only stops when i accelerate. it get worse on turns and when im cruising and let of the gas it vibrates pretty bad. and also... after i put evewrything back together (i bought new capliers while i had them off) my ABS light and Brake light are on. i dont know why. any suggestions?

Don't feel like the lone ranger, I too have done this and still have those symptoms. Somewhere down the line IF I keep my Ty I will completely take my front end apart piece by piece. Mine makes a loud bang from the left front like it's in a bind when I turn it deep nearly sitting still.

im thinking its the transfer case or propshaft. the boot is torn in the front and the back can move pretty easliy. the wheels shudder a little on turns in the front. im thinking i need a new transfer case/propshaft combo.
