lots yes....but neither need to be installed in a syty. both need help in order to live behind a syty...

but to answer your question...the syty has a specific sperator plate, valves body, 2nd gear servo, PR valve spring, boost valve, and accum springs are different

Plus it's the only 4x4 tranny with an oil slinger on the reaction carrier. The SyTy tranny is supposed to have a V8 3-4 clutch stack in a V6 case. They are supposed to have a heavy duty 3-4 apply ring and 1 piece 3-4 apply plate. Though only about 20% of them actually have these. The reverse boost valve, slide spring, governor, output shaft are all different. Mostly it is similar to having nice Corvette internals swapped into a 4x4 tranny configuration. Between John's previous list and mine, the biggest kicker is the VB and seperator plate/governor system and the Corvette servo to a lesser affect. The VB and seperator plate are unique. The other differences aren't a huge deal because you basically ditch all the rest of the stuff for better parts if you are doing it right.

Good job John with your list.

while we're on the topic of syty trannys, i noticed about a month ago that my tranny has lost its trademark shift. just recently i found out that one of the tranny bolts in the rear was gone, and the other was on its way out. so i replaced the missing bolt and tightened the other, it seems to shift a lil harder now, but still not as hard as it used to. i dont think the tranny itself could be going bad, since it only has a lil over 5k miles on the rebuild.

jwaller suggested that i block the 1-2 acuator, and get a new servo. this would make it shift harder. i would like to give this a try, but im 100% tranny illiterate.
id hate to pull the pan, and start messing with shit when i dont know what the hell im doing.

brian, since you seem to be the tranny god, could you possibly offer any tips or suggestions?
