datamaster help

I have just switched to a turbotweak chip and datamaster from code $59. Datamaster shows afr at 10.5-11 while my plx shows 14.5-15 at idle. Any ideas what I did wrong or what to set.

Need to make sure the chip was made to match your wideband. If you can give me the info on the chip, I can look it up.

its a plx sm-afr gen 4. I have dip switch 4 turned on and the log shows mv fluxuations and afr changes with throttle blips. Datamaster shows it going into closed loop.

Re: datamaster help

I need to double check the chip to see if it was programmed for a PLX. Can you give me the chip# or order#?

Also, make sure the PLX is grounded to the ECM.

Re: datamaster help

I checked the chip program and it was made for the PLX, so it seems you have something else going on. Either a wiring problem, or a problem with the analog output on the PLX.

Make sure you have the analog output (not the narrowband output) of the PLX connected to F14 at the ECM.

If that's good, then I would check the voltage of the analog output of the PLX, with it powered up and the O2 sensor unplugged. It should be around 2.3-2.4 volts .

Re: datamaster help

Hey Eric,
I have it idling good. It starts right up and I was able to adjust to fuel at idle and closed loop is good. The only thing I see is a drop in timing on throttle crack. It idles at 20 degrees but drops to 13-14 at throttle crack then climbs like it should and respond great except for that initial hesitation from the timing drop. Any idea what I need to do to correct this?

Thanks,
Phil

Re: datamaster help

The timing sounds normal. If it's hesitating, its probably more of a fuel thing. Have you driven the truck? It should be driven around so the fuel trims will "learn". We need to see if there is a big difference between the idle trim and the off idle trim (BLM cells).

no, not driven yet. I'll get it down off stands Thursday and start driving it some.

Thanks,
