It's getting harder and harder to find reliable cv axles that aren't made in CHINA anymore. I'm trying to avoid these piles of cheap poop. Does anyone know of a good brand that is decent or have a known good cv axle sitting aroundthat they would like to part with ? Lmk

Already did they won't do it.... Funny I thought because they are rebuilders... No luck at all ...WTF... So now looking for a decent known good axle up for sale or if anyone knows of a quality aftermarket cv axle that's not made in china..

I have two good used ones I would sell for $25 each. Even though made in china, I believe autozone has a lifetime warranty on them and they are $60 or so.

That's what I did, I got mine threw orileys, was 70 I think with a core.. So far it's taking the punishment and Even being so lowered its holding up just fine.. Got a lifetime warranty with it also, just waiting for otherside to go.

Yeah I know I checked it was like $638 but I got a dealer to come down to $300 but I still laughed at that... These parts have dust so thick on them it ridiculous... I've worked for a dealer before and I bet what they have is called dealer to dealer stock that they bought from another dealer that went ass up in the great Obamapression. I'm gonna check another dealer and really haggle if I can... But I'd rather keep it in the community if you get me! Let me know pancakes!

I've had great luck installing these before http://us.gsp.cn/main/ . Even though they are made in China, the quality is top notch, and everything is new so there's no core charge. "Made in USA" doesnt phase me as far as parts go, since I've had crap out of the box with that on it before. "Made in Japan" or "Made in Germany" is where it's at IMO.

Rebuild them yourself... Its not that hard.

Or make friends at the driveline shop... if you can't handle a CV you are probably going to need friends like that....

By autozone specials do you mean reman axles or the "new duralast gold axles"? Lmk

I ended up getting AM brand ones. http://www.am-autoparts.com/1992/GMC/Typhoon/axles-and-axleshafts/AM-21783816/365763.html and they look well built and beefy. Not sure how they hold up yet. But they look and feel stronger than the ones that came out which had both been twisted.

Cheap "lifetime" axles are going to piss you off one day. I used to run NAPA lifetimes in my S10. I had one come apart 10 miles into and off-road park, and when it came apart it took the bearing, balljoint, upper arm, knuckle and caliper with it. The POS axle cost me nearly $800 in parts, a very expensive tow bill to get it out of the ORV park (wheel broke off) and a fine for staying in the park after hours.

When I replaced them about once a year I should have known they were junk. In the FWD world the only axle that won't snap with slicks are GMs, every aftermarket axle in a POS unless it's a remain GM. The aftermarket Chinese ones also typically use a rubber boot and not plastic that loves to tear a spew grease. Just my .02cents...

If the boot tore reboot it (not hard, GM clamps work way better than the aftermarket) or rebuild it, like stated, it's not hard. Last, go to a yard and find a good used one.
