Cutting Bump Stops

I was riding on my bump stops after I dropped the ty (I didnt realize it) now they are shredded. I got the universal replacement urethane ones, however they are too tall. I chopped off 2 layers to compensate, do you think I cut too much off ? I dont want to mess up my cladding...

Anyone ever do this ?

I put those upper and lower on mine, cut the same way. I haven't dragged the cladding yet. Been like that for about a year. But my truck is not lowered, so...

Thank you for your response sir...The plan is to drop it without the stops to where I want it then cut the stops accordingly, we'll see. I was hoping I wasn't the only one who has done this with a dropped truck ?

Ok, Ill take a different approach to this, Ill give the stats...

I have a 1993 Typhoon with Belltech 5954 rear springs, I want to lower the front to make it level or a little lower than the rear.

Has anyone done this ?
What did you do regarding the bump stops ?
Are we supposed to ride on the bump stops when the truck is lowered ?

Riding the bumps stops puts extra pressure on the rest of the suspension. If you do it alot you will be changing bushing out. The desired ride is to get it as close to the bump stops with out using them.
