I went to the auto parts store and they sold me a sensor with two pins inside. The plug only has one pin.

That's not the right one.
They sold you the CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor) which mounts on the intake manifold.

Sorry, but I can't find the correct PN.

yup I need the Coolant temperature sensor that supplies the ECM with info.

Did anyone ever find the part no for the coolant sensor in the driver's side head? My temp gage isn't working so I assume I need a new sensor. I've been to two parts stores, and was shown two different incorrect sensors. Sytyauthority.net only lists the sensor that sends to the ECM.

OK, I think I might have just found it. From http://www.syty.org/parts.html, part no 25037332. Does this sound right?

For the record:

GM Part #25037332, Auto Zone Part #TU152, Coolant Temp Sensor $13.69

This is the coolant sensor in your driver's side head. If your temp gage is not working, this part should fix it. It fixed mine! Just thought I'd post this for future use.
