Reading them is depressing because people usually don't have the time to do the research before they jump into something and then......"I've burned up my third 700 this year and the shop says I need a TH350 to run consistent 12s" :lol: Shops don't normally do 700s that are put through the stress ours is. If you look at all the measuring and updates that need to be done, do you think a shop that builds 15 trannies a week is gonna do all that? Then people wonder why their truck was stuck in reverse and wouldn't shift gears :-?
Look around on the board and see what people think. Lot's of guys like Roadmaster, some don't. If they are treating you right and you feel comfortable with them, go for it.
Especially if they are local. Shipping a tranny isn't the cheapest thing.
If you are down by Waller, use him. If you live over by David(Myclone)definitely use him. Do what you feel comfortable with.
Dyno testing a transmission means different things. Some places do a pressure test and they consider that a "dyno" because parts were moving and it didn't leak. A true transmission dyno starts out at $15000 and actually puts the transmission through its paces. Shift points, line pressures, heatup, everything. I use a local vocational school's dyno that they got for their auto tech class. Instructor is pretty cool and it doesn't take all that long.
If you are in New Jersey, STAY AWAY FROM DELAWARE VALLEY TRANSMISSIONS. If you don't know why, do a search. Most guys know them as "the three stooges". They can't handle anything over a shift kit install.

I know why!Thats the cofusion.Guys on this board ,who have a good idea of whats happening still are having problems.I said it b4 ,I have a lot to learn concerning our trucks.Learning the hard way is the norm,and I'd like to avoid that,but in the end you gotta do what feels right.
