Cleaning a TC

I have a question. I am buying a Torque converter, and I was wondering, in the future, when/if I blow my trans and it sends bits of itself into the converter, is it possible to flush the debris out, or is it done for?

Is it a stock convertor? or a high stall? Stockers are usually a $125.00 rebuilt so I wouldn't chance a flush on it. If it is a more dollar convertor a flush might be o.k depending on what actually broke in the tranny. Otherwise get it cut open and inspected and then it should be o.k.

I was looking at getting a spec-rite, My guess for the trans breaking will be destroyed clutches, or a shattered sprag. it hasn't happened yet
