What is the easiest way to check for spark, can I just take one plug out reattach the plug wire and ground it to any piece of metal on the truck and look for spark or what. Truck is turning over fine but just won't fire up. Any ideas. Thanks in advance

If you are concerned about one specific cylinder, then testing everything by pulling the plug, attach the plug wire, then grounding the threads, then turning the truck over and seeing if you getting spark across the gap may help. If you just want to see if you are getting spark at all, take the coil wire off the cap, poke a screw driver in the wire and get the exposed metal of the driver *near* the manifold, (dont touch it to metal or the energy wont have a gap to jump, thus you wont see a spark). You should see sparkage when you crank. What is the prob, specifically? What happened and when?
How are your fuses?

Thanks Daron, what happened is a few days ago the car would start for a couple seconds, rev a bit higher than usual and then die. Did this a couple of times and would die. Thought I flooded it so I let it sit for about an hour and it started fine and ran fine. Now yesterday I try and start and wouldn't fire up, turns over fine but won't start. What fuses could I look at that could cause this? Any other ideas, I was thinking maybe fuel filter but really don't have any idea. It does have new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Thanks again!
