Has anyone tried to use the oil pans off of a newer motor. I think the 96 and newer have cast oil pans. Would there be any way to use it. I have one and would like to use. Can I do it or not. Thank you willie

It has to be off of a 4X4 and you will need to drill and tap a turbo oil return line. But yes it will work,

The cast oil pan will work, but you will have to redrill all the holes except the rear two on the oil seal adapter. The rails on the newer blocks are wider so there is not much material to drill and tap before you run out. You will also have to fill some of the existing holes as some over lap.You will also have to cut off the ears that bolt it to the trannys. I have a cast pan here and can take pics to give you a better idea of what I am decribing.

On a side not the cast pan will clear the eagle rods with no modifications.

I was going to use it but after seeing what is invloved a tin pan off a L35 will do.
