Anyone ever see one of these?

>> CAST IRON DIFFERENTIAL <<

The link above is to a V8S10 forum discussing the front differential.
Click on the picture it will take you to the link also.

The were in 2nd Gen's with a 5-speed?

The link was sent to me by Big Mike. I figured I would post it up to let everyone see. I didn't know they existed 'til now.
IDK if these will take any more abuse than the cast alum. ones we have but interesting none the least.

Re: Cast Iron Differential

My questions are, how many guys have broken their front differental cases?
Since everybody (or a lot of giuys) go to coil overs to lose weight, do they want to put it back on, to do this swap?
They didn't come on all 2nd gen 5 speed 4wd's, just like for some reason, you can dind thses trucks in the yard with out 8.5" rears under them, which they should also have. I've never seen a ZR2 without one, though.
I was told you only need to run it, if you're planning on putting a power-trak locker in it, to get real 4 or AWD

If our trucks came with the cast iron case everyone would be looking for the cast alum. to save weight. I think there are plenty of fast trucks running the cast alum. with no problems? I thought it was interesting because I never saw one.

I see more cast iron front differentals in the yard, then I do 8.5" rears, I have one or two of them, in my storage garage. I was trying to get one of each ratio (3.42 and 3.73) I'm not sure I suceeded. I think they only used them from 1994 through 98 or 99, I have yet to see one in the newer S10's, but of course they're fewer of them in the yards. But I did see at least two 2000 or newer with stick and neither of them had 8.5's or cast iron front differentals, in them

You should be selling them. That guy paid over 500 for one!
