The Joke:
I took the Syclone out of storage after work today and decided to go get a movie to watch with the wife. After pulling out on the main road I saw a nice C5 across the intersection and mumbled under my breath that I never catch one going the right way. So I look in the rear view mirror and what do I see? A burnt orange C6 vert. The guy is my age, top down cruising with the wife. He squirts ahead of me to the next light and I recognize his licence plate "WIKKED"...I used to beat this poor sap down in his Mustang with my Typhoon. Leave the next light and drive up to the next intersection. Across from us is a beautiful titanium C6 Z-06 and another C5 two cars behind it. I'm starting to scratch my head about all the vettes, and thanking my lucky stars I never followed through with my '06 Z-06 order. Up to the next light. Guy pulls up to me and asks me whats in my truck a four cylinder. Wife smirks....just like the good old days five years ago in the Mustang. I just smile and tell him to try and take off and he'll find out what's in it.
Then I asked him what happened to his little mustang. "Which one? I've had five." I just laugh. "Dude, you really don't remember me do you?"
Light turns green. Joe Corvette nuts it across the intersection but does manage to keep it pointed in a straight line. I'm smiling thinking to myself "this dude's going for it..." He hooks up three quarters of the way through the intersection and its on. I stomp on the gas...no boost...and hang on as the Syclone saws back and forth across the lane shooting through the intersection. I catch him maybe 150' on the other side of the intersection and come around him like he's standing still....literally. Put another 100' or so between us before I can even get out of the gas, and then slow down to turn around. Joe Corvette pulls up along side with a smile and a big thumbs up. I guess some things do get better with age. Last time I put a whooping on him in his Mustang he wouldn't even look at me at the next light and his wife was cursing me out for whatever reason.
The Punchline:
The Boost Commander was off and I was running 15psi. The truck is tuned to run 28psi on pump gas. Guess I still have a little left for the Z-06.
