Brakes fail with boost/torque launch?! ---

pppssssshhhhhtttttttttttt
I was wondering if I should be worried about pushing the brake pedal TOO hard to the floor when trying to launch for a boost/torque launch? I cant seem to get more than 1psi with a nice pressure on the pedal, but I havent put my "weight into it" in fear of breaking my brake booster or something. LET ME KNOW, thanks ---

You shouldn't have to get crazy pushing on it, I can make 6-8 psi with a little more then average brake pressure. If your really standing on it and rolling through with 1 psi it's time for some brake upgrades.

Last time I did or atempted to do a boost launch the brakes failed completely.. The long line under the driver side that connects the rear brakes to the front decided to let go the smallest pin hole.. Now I was out front of my house with no other cars/people around thank god so it wasn't a situation where "well what can I hit that will slow me down enough but won't damage my truck" kind thing which would have sucked.

I don't know what my story was for but i've felt the bare bottom of the pedel plenty of times without any problems except for the one listed above.. but that was do to some rust I guess.

I remember the first time I had my truck to the track.. I couldn't hold anything beyond 900 rpm or a little more.. It would go right thru the brakes at that point like I didn't even try the brakes and come to find out three passes later I found that my abs module was going nuts.. deleted that and bleeded brakes about 5 times and they were great.. held up to 8lbs so just something else to concider :) if you happen to have any abs codes that is

oh and thanks.. that avatar is a reminder why it's never a good idea to date a girl that comes from money if you don't.. in short she's a **** :)

OOOH no codes here ( well the lights not on in the console ) ... can it have codes and not show them? I really need to datamaster my truck but cant get it to hook up to my new laptop :( ---

I just got drilled and slotted rotors for the fronts with semi metallic pads, maybe that will help a lil bit ??? ---

My ABS unit was acting up also and I did the ABS delete kit from Hood and now I can hold 10+ psi for a launch(never have though). I'm all stock also! Before I couldn't hold past like 2-3.

Unless you spend a bunch of money on those drilled and slotted rotor's send them back because most are junk. Most manufacture's just take a standard blank rotor and drill holes in it or cut slots in it. Doing nothing to the rotor itself to give it any structural integrity back. I have seen many, many sets of cross drilled and sloted rotors crack and some break because they're too weak. Just my :2cents:

I'm 99% sure Datamaster doesn't show codes or anything to do with the abs system at least the version I use doesn't.. You have to use the paper clip and pull them the old fashion way but if your abs idiot light isn't lite then you don't have any codes.

My abs was toast but it didn't throw any codes either. So I junked it  . I gotta say tossing that thing on the junk pile was pretty sweet
