Hey can you put a BnM megashifter on syclone, and is it hard to do?

I don't think they make one for the Syclone/GT, they do make for the s-series thu, and I think they're floor shifters w/a big ugly box.
I put one in my camaro, and what do you consider hard? Hard as in...don't have a shop hyd. floor jack, what wires are the reverse, never done this before and doing all by thy lonesome? about 4 hrs., at least thats what it took me, and remember I did not have to cut anything out to make mine fit, it dropped in the stock space.
If you do get it to go in the stock location, let me know! They are cool shifters, although next time I would get the chrome handle (sold sep.) the alum. has to be polished all the time, but the wratchet action was neat! and if you plan to pro race you sy, it is NHRA and IHRA approved! Other than that, you're paying about $160+ for a cool looking shifter.

thanks, so is their no point of having one...can you get faster et's, you know like an auto to a manual. as far as i thought it is like a auto stick, you can drive it and it auto shifts but if you want to shift you can???am i wrong never, used one? or is it probably better to leave th eshift up to the truck...i just thought it would be cool to be shifting like that!

The only diff. between your stock and the B&M is that the B&M has lock-out rev. and neutral (i can't remember exactly, will have to test out on my GT). As far as shifting, you can do the same with the stock, shift into 1st, hold it, shift to 2nd hold it, you get my point. Thats how I've been driving for awhile now, all you're doing is holding it in gear longer, and I'm sure you've noticed you don't need to press the button when shifting up thru the gears, except when going in rev.
Personally I hate stick, too many splits of seconds thinking when to shift - PLUS stick SUCKS when in Rush-Hour traffic!!!!!!!!!

exactly...i can't see driving home in traffic with a stick...well thanks for the input man!
I've got the MegaShifter in mine, Camero model, in the stock location. Bit of fabbing involved, like mounting bracket that tilts the rear up 30° or so. Bezel has to be made to match the stock console; I used aluminum 1/8" plate, blacked w/ gun shop aluminum black & waxed over. Four black screws to hold it in.
Shifting - I usually let the governor (modified) do the 1-2 shift @ 5300, do the rest manually on the B&M using a shift light. That 1-2 shift comes up too quickly to use the light. Nice thing about manual selection is coming down for a corner - you can do it w/ the stock shifter, but its real sloppy & has no feel - lousy detents.

Just what sticks out of the console - not much help install-wise. The only mounting mod needed is to angle the rear of the shifter assemble upward, so's the cable exits the hole in the floorpan straight w/o any bends. Made bracket out of 1" strap iron, fastened to floorpan w/ pair of *big* sheet metal screws - better to use bolts, but access underneath is restricted..<G>.
Replaced the B&M plain handle w/ one w/ a button - that's my 'launch control'.

Yeah, that's mine, but an old picture. Got rid of the pediatal mounted laptop, now have a 6" LCD screen mounted over the speedo w/ ALDL data displayed, speed in BIG numbers, other stuff small. Got a recent pix - how do you post a pix here? BB FAQ says it can't be done, yet I see 'em. Also lost the cap - ugh, ugly, but harder to haul two dogs around w/o it.

Laptop's still there, just folded up & stuck under the parcel shelf. Ran the VGA output into an NTSC TV converter, thence to the LCD, which is really a monitor for a car game display. Auto boots up into the datalogger & display prog; added buttons via the parallel port to enable/disable logging, pause it or reset recorded max values (0-90mph time, max knock, max boost).
