Bluetooth ALDL

Re: Bluetooth ALDL

Finally! I have Bluetooth obd2 on all my cars( $10 each for bluetooth dongles) live data and log on phone when I drive. Searched and searched for obd1 bluetooth but nothing had compatible programs.

I wonder how much access the Android program will allow, it says extra channels for wideband....

When used with our 'ALDL Scan' application, the user can also log four additional analog data channels via the rear DB9 connector. This allows for the connection of devices such as wide band oxygen sensors. Analog channels can be monitored and recorded right along with the ALDL data being read by the application.

Is it just a live data or can you tune/adjust parameters?

If so are you still tuning thru code59 and data master or does the app control all of it?

The cost is under $100 I might just purchase and see if they work out well on our trucks.... Anyone already have one?

ALDL Droid app for, well, android.
I like Datamaster layout better.
For the Turbo T, I'm using WinAldl.
Havent tried this yet. I hate the wires. If and when I get it, a tablet will be taking the place of my gauge cluster.

I had thought of this too but kind of ditched the idea because you'd have to start it up plug it in, etc. I then considered an old samsung phone of mine with a 5.7" screen and a dash mount. I also thought of using my old surface pro in place of the two vents and radio for dm or tp5 gauges, but I think a better route to go for integration would be one of the android car stereos with bluetooth and a 7" screen. You would have the functionality of the tablet but no need to figure out how to rig a charger, turn it on at startup, mount it, etc. It would be plug and play and you could tuck it away when it's not being used. Plus it's not considered a communication device, as it's part of the vehicle ;)

That's kind of my plan anyway, but it's on the back burner for a while. If you do it, do post pics it would be cool to see.

Re: Bluetooth ALDL

Your idea sounds pretty good. It will have to wait a while. I'm taking the truck in for a repaint. I'll have to keep the wires for a bit longer.
