Block Heater

Common thing.

Drain coolant...pop out freeze plug...insert heater...tighten allen head screw...plug into electrical socket....all done

It's your choice as to which plug you insert it in, but keep in mind that you'll need to make the cord easily accessible for plugging in (one near the wheel well is nice as the hood can remain shut and still be plugged in).

Hope this sheds some light,

Hood

I've got one on my truck. The previous owner had it installed by the dealership I believe. I don't really even know if it works since I store my truck in the winter, I've never had to use it. Anyway here are some pictures I just took.

This is where the plug is.

This is where the cord comes through around the top driver side of the radiator.

The cords then goes down to the freeze plug thats hiding down there some where. About the time that the cord goes out of view in this picture it starts getting wraped in some sort of heat reflective material.

That's about all I know about it since I wasn't the one who installed it. HTH

the factory installed the block heater into the freeze plug location just above the starter. and I have one on my truck and it's a life saver in the winter....got to love it. full kit from the dealer should be no more than $25...it comes with heater and cord....

hammer it with a screwdriver or something else on the edge. you want to knock one end in a little, enough so that the other end sticks out so you can grab it with plyers and yank it out.
