Re: awd astro

Yep, atsg manual will tell you which is where
I'd think the code would say which solenoid it is.
But I've yet to play with an obdii- yet.

Re: awd astro

there's whole string of test that can be done to test it. i'd start by check for a harness rubbed through, pretty common on these where the wires run over the top of the tranny.

am i blind or didn't DaveP have a post here?

Re: awd astro

Are you positive it's stuck in first? (If it's in third, you have power issues to the trans). You may have disturbed the Pressure Switch Assembly and / or wiring while you were working on the solenoids. If the PSA is sending the combo for manual low, it won't shift regardless of manual valve (shifter) position. You almost need a scan tool to interpret the PSA.

And I could be mixed-up. Astro vans have a switch assy on the outside of the case, around the shift-shaft beginning in about 95 This may take the place of the PSA on the earlier 4L60e. I just don't work on enough of them to know all the combos.....

But no shift out of first sounds like a PSA or shifter switch issue.

the code came up as shift A solenoid. i changed both of them and now it is stuck in 1st gear and won't shift into 2nd gear. i'm going to try and change it one more time maybe by chance i got a f*** one.
