Arp bolts/studs

Howdy,

Thinking on using ARP stuff on my headers and my L35 heads. Anybody who had use their stuff, pls drop me part numbers at me. I would like to hear your opininons as well. The kit for the heads is around $100 and I found no 4.3 specific header kit. Which SBC kit should I use? The SBC headers kits are around $70.

TIA,

Id use these myself with some ultra high temp anti seize.

The anti seize I use is LocTite part# 51605. It isnt cheap at ~$27.00 for 9oz but it says its good for apps up to 2400 deg F(1315 deg C).

I personally dont recommend stainless steel on exhaust other than the pipe itself. The stainless bolts Ive used ALWAYS fuse themselves to the cast iron/steel of what they are screwed into(like the heads or turbine housing) no matter what kind of anti seize I use.

Just measured around a bit. IMHO these bolts, you linked in, won't work with stock headers. 0.750 U.H.L is way too short...

So. Anybody out there with ARP bolts securing your stock headers?

They have longer ones available. Lemme check summit and I'll be back in a few with a link.

Wait, are you using the stock manifolds or do you have headers?

Im back.... :D

These are longer but they are studs not bolts. I dunno if they are long enough for stock manifolds though as Ive never measured the stock bolts.

IMO if youre using the stock manifolds just get some grade 8 bolts in the length you need. Least thats what Id do if I really wanted to put some torque on em.

Thanks Myclone, I appreciate your help. I just checked the stock part numbers for thes studs and bolts.

#14029009, #9442012 and #9439637. The earlier two came in a pack of 5 for under $3. The last one is $3/bolt. You need one-one pack and two from the individual one. I'm gonna order them. BTW the length is 1 3/4" and 2 1/4" for the bolts and 1" + 2 1/4" for the studs.

Thanks again,
