Are 4x4 blazer/Ty shocks interchangeable?

I have some Rancho RS9000s on my 4x4 blazer right now and wanted to know if its feasable to swap shocks. i figgure the Ty shocks will make the blazer ride better (im selling it) and the RS9000s will give me better 60's, but i dont know if they will work since Tys are factory dropped and have the auto-leveling BS.

you couldn't put the stock rears in your blazer without the pump. I imagine that they would fully compress.

I ALSO OWN A 4X4 S-10 BLAZER AS WELL AS MY 93 TY' THE SHOCKS ARE DIFFERENT. THEY ARE SIMILAR, EXCEPT FOR THE TOP OF THE SHOCKS. THE TOP SHOCK MOUNT ON THE TY SHOULD BE WIDER THAN THE ONE ON A 4X4 BLAZER. IF YOU PUT A 4X4 SHOCK ON THE TY, YOU MAY FIND THAT, AT THE TOP, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SLIDE THE SHOCK SIDE TO SIDE 1/4" TO 1/2" EA . WAY. THIS WILL CREAT INSTABILITY IN YOUR TY'S FRONT SUSPENSION!

WHEN I PURCHASED MY TY, THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD 4X4 SHOCKS INSTALLED ON THE FRONT, PROBABLY THINKING HE WAS SAVING MONEY! I HAD KYB'S INSTALLED IMMEDIATELY! WHEN THE TECH HELD BOTH SHOCKS TOGETHER, THE SHOCK TOPS WERE WAY DIFFERENT. YOU SHOULD AT LEAST GO TO A QUALIFIED SHOP AND HAVE THEM PULL A SHOCKS FROM THEIR INVENTORY, AND COMPARE A 4X4 SHOCK AND A SHOCK SPEC'D FOR A TYPHOON.

Doh! im cheap and dont want to pay people for crap i can do. i put the RS9000s on the blazer and it wasnt hard. id just ditch the auto leveling while im at it.

i thought i heard of guys running RS9000a on thier tys :-? maybe the dominos guy slipped me some of his personal mushrooms when i thought i read that. :drinking:

There are alot of people that drive with the adjustable Rancho RS9000 schocks.

Thats what it lists at www.gorancho.com for my blazer.

for 4wd S-blazers its part # RS99123 for front and RS99124 for rear.

these are the shocks that are on my blazer. wouldnt that mean they would work on the Ty? id probably need new non-load leveling shocks for the blazer but that would be a hell of alot cheaper than buying new ranchos for the ty.
