You were the one huh? He told me about a phone call he got and the caller was saying the splines weren't right only to find out the guy was trying to stick it in the transfer case end.

Nope, I never called him back after intially calling to find out if they had one. It went on just fine backwards but then the shaft wouldn't fit and I had to swap it around. Felt like an idiot after that one :roll: .
And I checked the receipt last night, I paid $340 for it before I walked out the door. Just to clarify. Not trying to undercut anyone or any such

If you bought that last year, they have you listed as paying $450. Your one of 3 individuals sold to last year. He had them all laid out on the table while he talked to me on the phone. One of two things happened. Someone screwed up when they made up the bill, or someone charged you for the wrong part(most likely what happened). You got a hell of a deal because I can't even get them for close to that and I've sold many. Mike's prices in his gallery are from 2001. Spicer's prices have gone WAY up since then. According to the parts list on my invoices I get from them, the parts alone are more than $340 and that's before labor is added in. Like I said, you got a hell of a deal. I'm betting that someone there charged you for the wrong part because every syty prop he has sells for $450 out his door and that's what all of his records show. It's still worth a shot though. Send me a copy(scribble out CC info if it's on there)and I'll see if I can get him to cut a better deal.

Gotcha... When I spoke to my dad, he had the receipt in front of him and it said $265 in parts. So I guess there must have been a mixup (I purchased it in late March 06 IIRC). I will send you a copy of it when I go home over President's day :tup:
And as soon as I got the shaft halfway in with the flange on the wrong end, I realized exactly what I had done and spent about 10 mins just laying there feeling stupid.... then I fixed it :lol:

Just to follow up. Spent a lot of time with the individual,slow91, ordered the propshaft for him and he didn't buy it. Answered a LOT of questions about the front differential and propshaft and how they go together. If anyone needs a Gilbert for the 700r4 length, I've got it sitting on the shelf. $425 shipped to the lower 48 US with bolts and seal. Looks like he's now selling the truck. Please don't have me order parts, especially expensive ones, say you need it asap, dig for a bunch of info, and then say, "oh, I don't need it."
