I don't have it in front of me but there is a guy in Rockford, IL who will rebuild and rewind your stock alt. to a 180A for $99 with next day service.

Once I get home I will post up his info.

i just put a new alt in this weekend and it cost $160.00 minus the core charge = $130.00, brand new lifetime warranty from autozone way better than being rebuilt of buying a rebuilt

You think???
You just bought a lifetime guaranteed piece of shit.
It is a well known fact those AutoZone warranteed parts are built out of the country with substandard components.
Expect to be replacing it frequently, get your use out of that warranty./
And no the warranty does not cover your time and headaches of uninstalling and reinstalling it every year or so, not too mention when it leaves you stranded or ruins your battery.

well it seem like everyone says that rebuilts suck because you
buy an alt that has peices taken from other alts that were turned in(who knows how many miles these cores have on them)
now your saying that the duralast one i bought sucks, the factory ones suck because they cost to much. i got a ltw and it would be a headache to change out a rebuilt every year and it would suck to shell out 65 bucks every year, i will drive this one till it dies and then go turn it in under warrenty and put a new one in.

I had mine rebuilt to 140a with an overdive pulley and HD diodes for $80 over 2 years ago. It has performed flawlessly. I guess it depends on your rebuilder.

I've got the monster 200A model that Powermaster makes.
No problem running all of those fans & lights at the same time.
You need to make a special bracket for the top mount though.

Ohio Generator makes the biggest, baddest, best alternators, period! They are like $525.00 but carry a life time unlimmited warranty. Chromed or polished is extra. Up to 320 amps available. I've seen SPL competition vehichles with just one of these alternators push over 3,600 watts RMS and draw off of 4 80 amp circuts plus the power consumption of the head unit and highs amps with no problem. Their alternators are always underated to be safe. Great for any truck! Winches, KC lights, air bag copressors, hydraulics, mulit amplifier sub systems, etc... Ohio Generator is the best I've seen!
